The Tweeter vs. Corn Pop

The political debate is heating up. After all, the “most important” election of our lifetimes is just around the corner. If you don’t vote, you don’t have a right to complain, and all that. There is a clear choice, isn’t there? The troops died so that you could have this precious right.

Donald Trump should theoretically be very easy to beat. All it would take would be a mature, intelligent candidate, to focus attention on all his broken promises, flip-flops, and nonstop meaningless tweeting. Someone articulate to contrast with Trump’s surrealistic ungrammatical style.

But the Democrats didn’t select someone like that. Instead, they opted for an even older guy, who commits even more verbal gaffes than Trump does. Joe Biden appears to unfortunately be in the early stages of dementia, which makes him seem even more foolish than the sum of his authoritarian rhetoric.

Trump recently publicly condemned the military industrial complex in a manner unseen inside the White House since the Kennedy administration, when JFK was doing it in private. He blasted the brass at the Pentagon who “want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and make everything else stay happy.” These are wonderful sentiments, but Trump has presided over the largest military budgets in history, and surrounded himself with nothing but warhawk neocons.

Following the president’s shocking criticism of the military, none other than Rush Limbaugh, who has passionately supported every war this country has provoked in recent years, blasted the military industrial complex, too. He even mentioned all the “senseless wars” they’ve waged. All of which he cheered on, of course. But still, it was remarkable to hear. Maybe next we’ll see Lindsey Graham singing “Give Peace a Chance” on the floor of the U.S. Senate. The world turned upside down.

Now, while loving Trump’s comments, I didn’t for a second believe that he would follow them up with any corresponding actions. Like bringing the troops home from Iraq, Afghanistan, and all the other countries they remain ensconced in, some dating back to the end of World War II. True to form, a few days later, tanks in Lithuania were moved closer to the Belarus border, in an effort to pique the interest of Russia. Remember, the laughable mantra on the Left is that Trump is “Putin’s bitch.”

Trump’s comments came on the heels of an article in the Atlantic, written by editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg, one of the estimated 10 billion mainstream “journalists” who have denigrated “conspiracy theorists.” Goldberg referred to anonymous sources claiming Trump had defamed U.S. soldiers as “losers” and “suckers.” Trump had supposedly wondered aloud, during a World War I ceremony, about “what was in it” for the uniformed casualties. Sounds like a pretty good question. Not even the most rabid court historian can come up with a convincing reason for World War I.

In his own awkward, offensive way, Trump was questioning the war profiteers. “Support the troops” is a phrase used by the elite to shift the attention from why we are fighting to the brave and bold youngsters tasked to fight. Every soldier is more accurately defined as a victim. Their heroism is always in the service of powerful forces who pull their strings. War is a Racket, as the great Gen. Smedley Butler said.

Trump’s purported incendiary comments awoke Joe Biden from his slumber. He felt compelled to defend his former Republican Senate ally, the late warhawk Hall of Famer John McCain, whom Trump had notably criticized a few years back. The Biden campaign began a “Protect our Troops” advertising blitz. The fired up former vice president called Trump’s un-sourced comments “disgusting,” and “deplorable,” invoking Hillary Clinton’s former sobriquet of choice. Biden, as a good “liberal” of long standing, has never met a war he didn’t like.

Biden remains largely hidden from public view, and has been caught reading teleprompters to answer embarrassingly softball questions from a media overtly rooting for him. He should be even easier to beat than Trump. But his opponent relies on childish name-calling and incessant bragging about himself as his primary debate strategies, so nothing is certain. They are pretty evenly matched, sad to say.

Trump’s campaign rhetoric will not include anything about immigration, which was his hot button issue in 2016. This is because, despite all the tweets, his administration never ended DACA (as promised), or birth-right citizenship (as promised), and has, in fact, deported fewer illegals than Barack Obama himself. And Mexico is certainly not paying for his still nonexistent wall. So it’s probably best not to mention the subject.

Biden will certainly draw from his own name-calling arsenal. Trump will be called “racist” repeatedly. No one will require any specificity there; the state-controlled media just regurgitates something enough times so that it becomes fact in the eyes of the dumbed-down public. How do you prove that someone is a “racist” anyhow? And then there is one of Al Gore’s inconvenient truths; the numerous anti-Black comments from Joe Biden on the public record, which certainly seem to qualify as “racist.”

Just as Biden won’t mention Trump’s failure to even attempt to live up to his 2016 populist rhetoric, Trump will not mention Biden’s countless videotaped inappropriate groping of females, from little girls to adult women. A compilation of those videos would make a great campaign ad. But that would open a Deep State can of worms, especially the ones revealing a leering Biden sniffing and touching visibly uncomfortable children.

Because Trump’s overblown personality is so unique, for once there is a choice between presidential candidates. But it’s largely centered around personality. Do you want a blustery braggart, with a ridiculous hairdo/toupee and orange tan, that will tweet out anti-establishment tidbits but ultimately do nothing (or the opposite), or a semi-senile swamp creature with decades of shameful tenure in swamp infested Washington, D.C.?

It should be obvious by now that no one is riding in on a white horse to save us. And the American people are too frightened, and too apathetic, to take to the streets. Like millions did in Germany recently, when our state-controlled media completely censored what should have been a huge story; RFK, Jr. being cheered by hundreds of thousands fed up with the lockdown, from the same Berlin where his uncle gave one of his most famous speeches as president. Or the ten thousand plus who protested the shutdown in England. And France had their yellow jackets. In America, we have well organized professional “protesters” who are financed by some of the wealthiest and most powerful interests imaginable.

As we prepare to cast votes that almost certainly will not be honestly counted, the mandatory masks and social distancing requirements remain in place. Schools remain closed. Pro sports are being played before empty stands, sometimes with cardboard figures placed there, along with piped in crowd noise. There are serious suggestions that couples should wear masks while having sex. The changes appear to be permanent. And the majority of people seem to support that.

If I vote, it will be for Trump. Not because I support him, or like him. Simply because it will be more entertaining. Watching coverage by CNN, MSNBC, and the like would be must-see TV if Trump wins. Not that I think they’ll count the votes. The electoral process is utterly corrupt, and the result predetermined and rigged, no matter what the outcome. Presidents are selected, not elected. It would be more fun to watch the reactions of those with Trump Derangement Syndrome than the reactions of Trump’s cult if he loses. The “woke” Left is absolutely delusional. Again, must-see TV.

2020 will leave behind an expensive legacy. Economically and socially, the plandemic and the absurd lockdown will devastate this country for decades. The nonstop riots that are permitted to go on unimpeded by disinterested authorities are adding huge, untold amounts to that economic impact. Insurance companies aren’t going to pay for all that damage. Once again, it will be the average American who has to “sacrifice.”

There are no Huey Longs. No John F. Kennedys. RFK, Jr. is pretty good, but his hereditary vocal issue unfortunately limits his political chances. Maybe if things get bad enough, at least some of the sleeping sheeple will finally wake up. Until that happens, all we can do is rock the meaningless vote.
