Liberals and the American Idiocracy

Being “liberal” is still generally considered a good thing. After all, the traditional definition of a liberal revolved around being tolerant, open-minded, generous and empathetic. There are very, very few Americans today who fit that definition, especially those who self-identify as “leftists.”

Liberals today can better be defined as social justice warriors, as many “conspiracy theorists” have started referring to them as. SJWs are primarily concerned with controlling thought, speech and behavior. They are interested in restricting rights and liberties, not defending or expanding them. They are authoritarian to the core, and more quick to turn to violence than the most alcoholic rednecks are in their prime. They love shouting and name-calling.

SJWs are responsible for decreeing that only black lives matter, and react to the logical rejoinder that all lives matter by calling it “racist.” In recent years, we have been told that brown paper lunch bags are “racist.” Now, it seems that flesh-colored band-aids are “racist,” too. In the U.K., recently it was determined that correcting someone’s grammar is actually “racist.” Any criticism of Barack Obama, even references to him being angry, have been called “racist.” I was chastised by a SJW on Facebook for citing the fraudulent nature of the official unemployment figures, because to do so was being “racist.”

The quintessential white liberal journalist, Maureen Dowd, reacted to charges that Obama is a chronic liar by writing, “Surrounded by middle-aged white guys — a sepia snapshot of the days when such pols ran Washington like their own men’s club — Joe Wilson yelled ‘You lie!’ at a president who didn’t. But, fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!” Donald Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America great again” has been sarcastically interpreted as “Make America white again” by the SJWs.

To paraphrase the old saying about beauty, when everything is racist, nothing is. Sooner or later, someone is going to remember the story about the boy who cried wolf. We are fifty years into a myriad of civil rights laws, affirmative action, and widespread white guilt. Sooner or later, we have to have a level playing field. Reasonable people should want everyone to be treated fairly and equally under the law. There should be no preferences or favoritism. Period. Why can’t our society try this simple concept?

Considering that all criticism of President Obama has been attributed to “racism” by the most devout disciples of political correctness, we can only imagine what criticism of a President Hillary Clinton would be attributed to. Hillary has shown no reluctance about shamefully exploiting the gender card. Expect allegations of “sexism” to become all the rage if she attains the highest office in the land.

This is what the modern “liberal” has become; responding to everything in a predictable, emotional manner. Assessing people and their motivations solely through the prism of mainstream media’s politically correct bias. Shouting down dissent with screams of “racist,” “sexist” and “homophobe.” The average SJW is more religiously faithful to the corrupt, rotting state than the most die-hard, bible-thumping fundamentalist is to their own creed.

“Liberals” now never quote Voltaire’s famous line about defending the right of those he disagreed with. There is no reason to believe the SJWs think those they disagree with have any rights. They expect unfettered conformity. They viciously attack “haters” with…pure hatred. They are stubbornly intolerant of the intolerant.

While researching Hidden History 2, I have been struck with how few liberals, in any era, were opposed to the various wars of their time. The leading “liberals” of their day were gung-ho for the Civil War, the Mexican-American War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, the Iraq War, etc. Only the Vietnam War drew any real opposition from the Left, but even there many of the leading liberal politicians of the time supported the fiasco until it finally become untenable to do so.

By contrast, perhaps the most consistent anti-war voice in modern times has been Patrick Buchanan. Buchanan is seen as a right-wing “extremist” by much of the public, and has been tarred with the “anti-semitic” brush for his criticism of Israel, and has predictably also been called “racist.” Henry Ford was probably second only to socialist Eugene Debs in publicly opposing WWI. Today he is remembered as a cranky “anti-semite.” One of those despicable “dead white men.” The president who led us into WWI, on the other hand, Woodrow Wilson, is recalled for his idealistic “dream” of a League of Nations. The one pushing war is associated with peace. War is peace.

The Democratic presidential race features a seemingly genuine liberal, in Bernie Sanders, opposing the epitome of the modern authoritarian leftist, Hillary Clinton. As should be obvious to everyone, the establishment has gone full tilt in tampering with the voting process, and rigging the delegate count, in order to assure that the clearly less popular Clinton becomes the nominee. Bernie’s crowds are overflowing, while Hillary struggles to fill a room. They aren’t fooling anyone who isn’t still asleep.

If the “liberals” dominating our culture were actually liberal in the classical sense, then we would seen the public dialogue expanding on all fronts. Instead, it has become hopelessly restricted, with certain words nearly outlawed, when uttered by certain people. We are about as close as we could possibly be to Orwell’s Thought Police. With political correctness now mired as firmly into our civilization as a marble monument, “free” Americans have to actually stop and think before they talk or write, lest what they say literally ruin their lives.

That’s what the SJWs who run the left seem to like best; to catch someone uttering the wrong word or words, and then to pounce upon them like hungry lions. “Fire him!” “Put him in jail!” Today’s “liberals” seemingly want to put everyone they don’t like into prison. Maybe if Hillary gets elected, they’ll finally open up those FEMA camps.

I am still probably more of a leftist, but my instincts are populist. My hero is Huey Long, who said and did what “liberals” certainly seem to want to do. But Long was despised by the establishment, left and right, including the communist and socialist parties in America. He made the lives of untold numbers of poor people better, which is evidently something so-called “liberals” resented him for. Long actually got things done, unlike his fellow leftist, Franklin Roosevelt, who at the very least heaved a giant sigh of relief when his fiery political competitor was assassinated.

What is truly frightening is that, as America becomes more ignorant, the SJWs grow in number and become more strident, more cocksure in their glorious stupidity. Decades of dumbing-down policies in the school systems, combined with the mindless drivel emanating from Hollywood, have combined to create a blossoming facsimile of Mike Judge’s Idiocracy. We’re almost there, folks. I’m just waiting for the movie Ass to be released.

While Donald Trump’s maddening tendency to formulate his thoughts like an elementary school student fits in nicely with our increasingly dimwitted populace, his refusal to back down and needlessly apologize is refreshing. He has expanded the political discourse as no other candidate has in recent times. Mainstream liberals hate him because he is talking about real issues like bringing jobs back to America, instead of just muttering empty soundbites and insincerely “feeling” a particular chic cause.

“Liberals” today hate Thomas Jefferson, and Huey Long, and John F. Kennedy. Frank Capra was too “corny” for them. But now they are falling in love with the least likable Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton. But that’s because a Puerto Rican playwright has produced a Broadway smash featuring an all-black cast in the roles of the all-white Founders. Finally, they are no longer “dead white men.” But never fear, the sole white actor in the cast portrays the evil King George III.

To SJWs, race is a “social construct.” If you’re white. If you’re non-white, and especially if you’re black, then race is all that matters. Your entire life revolves around it, especially the time period when your ancestors were enslaved. Few “liberals” seem to know, or care, that there are 30 million slaves in the world today. 10 million are enslaved in India. Where are the cries for boycotting them? In contrast, there were less than 4 million slaves in America at its peak. Aren’t all slaves equally enslaved? Even if all lives don’t matter, don’t all slaves matter?

We live in a society now where a middle-aged man suddenly decides he’s a little girl, and gets adopted as such by “parents” who are younger than him. SJWs are fighting for the rights of anyone to use whatever bathroom they choose, depending upon what sex they “identify” with. But these same “liberals” are unconcerned with the huge increase in foreign Visa workers, and the fact businesses are being paid a bonus by the government to hire them over American citizens. They also seem cool with unconstitutional roadblocks, illegal search and seizure, police brutality (unless it’s a mainstream media orchestrated, predictable racial thing), “free speech” zones and every other recent restriction on civil liberties.

I certainly have no love for modern “conservatives,” and their worship of greed and the corrupt marketplace. But “liberals” are so diametrically opposite of what they are purported to be that I hold a special disdain for them. The “flower children” took over our world a long time ago, and they have become more controlling and less tolerant than the crankiest member of the WWII generation. The Baby Boomers were the ones who instituted all the Orwellian “security” measures at every workplace now. Most of us have to deal with a steady stream of pointless regulations and rules that do nothing to make workplaces or the lives of their employees better.

I urge everyone to study populism. Both Trump and Sanders have tapped into aspects of populism. When things become as unbearably corrupt as they undeniably have now, the only answer is populism. We need an end to the phony “left” and “right” paradigm. Populism means power to the people. Whether it’s corporate greed or government misconduct, the people suffer. Too much concentration of power is no good, whether it’s in business or government.

Aristotle said, “Of all the varieties of virtues, liberalism is the most beloved.” It is impossible to imagine what he would think of Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Al Sharpton, Charles Schumer, and the rest of our present-day “liberals.”

 

Our Mad, Misguided Society

The American public is becoming increasingly aware that our votes are meaningless. Whether it was Mark Twain or Emma Goldman who actually said it, the cynical quote that “If voting mattered, it would be illegal,” seems more profound every day.

We’ve just been treated to party officials cancelling the Wyoming vote, and simply awarding all delegates to Ted Cruz, in order to stop Donald Trump from getting the 1237 delegates necessary for the Republican Party nomination. At the same time, Bernie Sanders beats Hillary Clinton by 12 points in the popular vote, but Hillary somehow gets four more delegates out of it.

The same mainstream media that has been referring to Trump as “racist” on a continual basis, and accusing him of “inciting violence,” is now targeting his one- time adviser Roger Stone. Stone and others are urging concerned Americans to go to Cleveland and confront the delegates at the Republican convention for their anti- democratic chicanery. For his activism, Stone is being accused of “inciting violence” as well.

Meanwhile, those who continue to show up at most every Trump rally, financed by Craig’s List ads or the deep pockets of George Soros, are sympathetically portrayed by the same media as humble “protesters.” Evidently, the right to disrupt a gathering only applies to the rallies of Donald Trump, as genuine protesters at a variety of public and private gatherings over the years can attest to. The out-of-control police forces we see everywhere now, cracking down on barbecue disputes and swimming pool rifts, are nowhere to be seen at the Trump rallies. They adopt the same uncharacteristic, hands-off policy towards the Trump “protesters” that they extend to truly dangerous gang members and other actual criminal-types.

The reality is obvious to everyone; both Trump and Sanders draw huge crowds, sometimes as large as 40,000. Meanwhile, Cruz and Hillary are fortunate to fill up a room. Much as it was clear in 2012 just which candidate had the most support (it was Ron Paul), in 2016, Trump and Sanders are the clear favorites with the public.

In the midst of this disenfranchisement of the people, our culture continues to devolve into a Roman-empire style of decadence. The rights of transgender citizens are considered more important that the civil liberties all of us are losing daily. Everything can be considered “racist” now. First it was brown paper lunch bags. Then it was the term “hard-working.” Now, some are claiming that band-aids are “racist.” According to these social justice warriors, “white privilege” is something destitute families in Appalachia have, while the likes of Oprah Winfrey don’t. Even saying “all lives matter” is called “racist.”

While the “left” wants to seemingly ruin the lives of anyone who “offends” their increasingly narrow sensibilities, the “right” would like to convert America into a land of “job creators” and illegal immigrants. No one talks about how the vast majority of workers don’t receive annual pay increases any more. Pensions are being eliminated. But executive bonuses continue to skyrocket, even when those getting them have been abysmal failures at their jobs.

The mainstream media recently trumpeted the good news that unemployment claims haven’t been so low since the early 1970s. Meanwhile, they admit there are some 94 million adults of working age who are unemployed. It was actually very bad news, in that it revealed how many out-of-work Americans have seen their benefits run out, if they ever even qualified for them. What these figures actually mean is that fewer unemployed Americans are getting even the pittance that unemployment benefits provide.

Our leaders are so wrong-headed on every issue that is simply defies belief. As the late James Forrestal once said, before he “jumped” out of a window at Bethesda Naval Hospital, “By the law of averages, they should at least once in a while do something in our favor.” Our leaders never do anything that benefits the vast majority of Americans. By contrast, every move they make is designed to drive down the standard of living for some 80% of the people, while making certain that more and more wealth is directed upwards into the hands of the elite.

Who among us supports perpetual war? Enslavement to the bankers? Hiring illegal immigrants over American citizens? Neglecting our own infrastructure? Paying companies bonuses to hire foreign visa workers over American citizens? An untold amount of corporate welfare, while slashing food stamp benefits? I could go on and on. Without a “conspiracy,” as Forrestal said, once in a while they’d do something that would benefit everyone.

If the powers that be succeed once again, and there is no reason to think they won’t, considering they “win” every game they play with their stacked deck; then we will be left with a “choice” for president between Hillary Clinton and some typically putrid Republican like Romney or Ryan. Trump and Sanders may not be able, or even willing, to do anything to stop the corruption and govern in a constitutional manner. But the very fact that they might try is apparently too much for our deluded masters.

I do sense that more people are waking up, especially to all the blatant voter fraud going on in both major parties. But the majority are still asleep. Too many are so sound asleep they may never be able to awaken. That’s the problem we face- trying to wake up those who simply are unwilling or unable to do so.

I run into this all the time. While many people accept much of what I’m saying, even a lot of “awake” people will at some point state, “that’s going too far.” J. Edgar Hoover, of all people, defined this mentality when he said, “The individual is handicapped by coming face-to-face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists.” He was talking about communism, of course, but the point is applicable to the situation today. Most people simply can’t accept that the corruption is as bad as it is.

Snoop Dog and Mickey Rourke are just the latest celebrities to threaten Donald Trump with violence. The authorities don’t seem interested in even talking with them. But The Washington Post and other mouthpieces of the state seem to think that Roger Stone calling for protesters to come to the Republican convention does constitute a threat. Clearly, it all depends on who or what is being threatened.

As I tried to show in Hidden History, our leaders built this monstrosity. Fifty years of absolute, nearly non-stop corruption, conspiracy and incomprehensibly bad decision-making have brought America to the brink of total collapse. The system can’t sustain itself the way it is currently being run, and what is more astounding is the fact those running it seem to know this, and simply don’t care.

This would make a great, apocalyptic science-fiction movie. But the madness is all too real. And unless something drastic and miraculous occurs, we’re all going to have to deal with it. Much as the proles in Orwell’s 1984 had the potential to easily overthrow Big Brother, we have the power to rein in our own corrupt leaders.

But for real change, real reform, to occur, a lot more people have to wake up. Looking at more and more of our fellow citizens wandering out into traffic like untrained toddlers, transfixed by their cell phones, it’s  hard for anyone to be optimistic.
